By proceeding with your order with Sew 8-bit, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions.
Stock items will not require a quotation. You will however be sent an invoice to settle before posting that will show you the cost of each item ordered plus the shipping and handling costs for the whole order.
Quotations for commissioned work are liable to slight discrepancies owing to the nature of sewing – thread quantities are always estimated to the closest accuracy possible. Your quotation will include a section for materials and a section for labour. Please remember that the labour charges include my time, electricity, printer, fuel etc. Approximated postage and handling costs will also be indicated on the quotation.
If any changes in the quotation need to be actioned (for example of Royal Mail change their postage fees) you will be informed immediately for discussion.
A 25% fee is payable immediately for work to begin. This 25% will be invoiced to you. If there is a waiting list, this payment will not be taken until I am ready to start your piece. This 25% is not refundable under any circumstances. The remaining balance will be invoiced when the work is complete. Once settled, the item will be posted to you.
Unless the item is in stock, there will be a lead time for the production of your items which will be made clear to you at the time of obtaining a quote for the work. These lead times can vary depending on the complexity/size of the work being commissioned and whether there is a waiting list. It is important that you agree to slight variations in the quoted time due to circumstances that would be out of my control such as injury, family emergency or failure of equipment. These are kept to a minimum at all times and you will be kept fully informed if this were the case.
The production of your order can be photographed at intervals if requested. Photographs may be taken for the website/social media. All posts will not have your details included although you may wish to tag yourselves in them to share your special piece with your friends.
The timescale for creating cross stitch designs is greater than machine sewn work. The creation of more complicated machine sewn work will take longer than simple items. I will give approximate time estimates with your quotation.
All payments should be made online through PayPal or Credit/Debit Card. No cash or cheque payments are accepted. Rights are held to refuse service at owners discretion.
Stock items should be paid for, in full, immediately. This includes all shipping and handling fees that may be included in the price (these will be made clear to you at the time)
A 25% deposit must be made immediately to cover the cost of materials. The subsequent payments can be made in instalments by prior arrangement or in full upon completion of the piece. Full settlement, including shipping and handling (which will be made clear to you in advance) must be reached before items are posted.
At no point will any items be posted until the full amount owing is accounted for in cleared funds. The items ordered will only be owned by you when this full payment has been received and acknowledged. Any payment fees are already factored in to each order and will not be an additional cost at the point of payment.
Returns are accepted (at cost to the buyer) only if items are faulty at which point the item cost and the postage to return it will reimbursed when the fault is verified.
Stock items can be cancelled unless payment has already been taken, Items will not be held for longer than 24 hours where this has been requested.
Commissioned items will be subject to the following policy. This system is used owing to the individual nature of commissioned item production (meaning that I risk not being able to sell them to another client):
25% deposit is non-refundable
Cancelled within 48 hours – no charge
Cancelled within 5 week – 25% of remaining balance will be owed
Cancelled within 7 days – 50% of remaining balance will be owed
Orders cancelled beyond 7 days will require full payment.
Postage and Handling:
Unless the item is particularly large or valuable, all postage will be via Royal Mail. Any items over the cost of £30 will be sent as ‘Signed For’ delivery. Handling time is approximately 3 working days (excludes bank holidays). Items are packaged securely and carefully. You will be informed which type of delivery you will be getting. You can of course opt for the ‘Signed For’ delivery option as an extra if ordering items under £30.
If items are particularly large or valuable, a courier may be used, which will be indicated in your postage and handling fee. You can request a courier delivery for regular orders if you are happy to pay for this.
